SOLVING URBAN
LANDSCAPING CHALLENGES
Working in busy city centre locations brings unique logistical challenges, and Sweet Street was no exception.
The brief called for the creation of landscaped podium gardens above on site car parking, with access routes designed for pedestrians rather than heavy materials.
To overcome this, our operations team engineered a solution that saw hundreds of tonnes of topsoil blown through a tube from a purpose built blower fed by our grab wagon. This allowed us to safely and efficiently deliver materials to areas that would otherwise have been inaccessible.
The result is two podium gardens forming the courtyards for four premium apartment blocks in central Leeds. Featuring lightweight, free draining Green Tree topsoil purpose mixed for the site, mounded shrub planters and large grass areas at the heart of each courtyard, the finished scheme delivers high quality outdoor space in the middle of the city.
